What Happens to Your Used Capsules
The aluminum recycling process is a remarkable example of circularity. Each capsule is transformed through an energy-efficient, multi-stage recovery system that produces new, high-quality aluminum with virtually no material loss.
- Shredding & Sorting:Used capsules are shredded into small fragments and separated from steel, coffee grounds, and other impurities.
- Decoating: Hot air removes lacquer and organic residue, with heat exchangers recapturing energy for efficient operation.
- Melting: Clean shreds are melted in high-efficiency furnaces, where jet pump stirrers speed the process and regenerative burners lower energy use.
- Casting: The molten aluminum is filtered, purified, and cast into ingots—ready to be used again in new aluminum products.
